About Yujian Cui:

Yujian Rikki Cui is a Chinese Artist who lives and studies in Los Angeles. He graduated from CalArts Photo and Media program. His work explores the space between Visual Art and experimental writing. He also critiques and experiments with the concept of time in Photography. His works mainly discuss the conflict between social development and individual sentiment, Asian immigrant history in Western America. His works at the same time discuss the complex relationship between photographs and memory. He also questions the objectiveness of traditional Documentary Photography and critiques the effects it creates on the subjects.
